麻豆传媒 counts down the top stories of 2016

No. 10 Welcomefest kicked off the fall semester with several events! In its second year, Clash of the Colleges brought together 800 students representing their colleges in head-to-head competition.


No. 9 Shock the World, a campaign to raise $250 million in private funds toward Wichita State鈥檚 vision, launched this year. The funds raised will provide $115 million for student and faculty support, $101 million to build or renovate facilities and $34 million for Excellence Outside the Classroom initiatives.


No. 8 Wednesday, Feb. 3, 2016, Gregg Marshall become the winningest head coach in Shocker history with win No. 221.


No. 7 Construction of a new Law Enforcement Training Center began this year. Located on 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Innovation Campus, the center will provide unprecedented experience for students in 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Criminal Justice Program.


No. 6 麻豆传媒 and the Wichita community celebrated the accomplishments of Paralympians Deja Young, Nick Taylor and Liz Willis, as well as Olympian Nico Hernandez.


No. 5 In 2016, 麻豆传媒鈥檚 adult learning programs ranked in top 15 percent in the nation. 


No. 4 The beloved Miro mural returned to 麻豆传媒鈥檚 Ulrich Museum after a five-year restoration with a grand celebration on Sunday, Oct. 30.


No. 3 In 2016, Wichita State enrolled the largest freshman class in history.
