Organ concert will be a collaborative fine arts experience

  • The 30th anniversary of Wiedemann Hall and the Marcussen Organ will be celebrated with a Gala Celebration Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Wiedemann Hall.
  • All three fine arts schools will be represented in the event.

Wichita State's College of Fine Arts will celebrate the 30th anniversary of Wiedemann Hall and the Marcussen Organ with a Gala Celebration Concert at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 15, in Wiedemann Hall.

All three schools in the College of Fine Arts will be represented in this unique event. The School of Art, Design and Creative Industries will be represented by special ceramic sculptures displayed on the stage.

For the first time, dancers will take the Wiedemann Hall stage with original choreography created specifically for the occasion.

The six dancers will perform 鈥淭rois Danses: Joies, Deuils and Luttes鈥 (Three Dances: Joys, Mourning and Struggles in life between joy and sadness), choreographed by Regina Klenjoski Schmidt of the School of Performing Arts.

Robert L. Town Distinguished Professor of Organ, Lynne Davis, will perform music by Couperin, Bach, Alain and many others centered on the theme of dance.
