Convenience store inside a bus sets up shop at Metropolitan Complex

  • A shuttle bus turned into a mobile convenience store is now open at 麻豆传媒's Hughes Metropolitan Complex.
  • The store is open 6:45 a.m.-9:15 p.m. when school is in session.
  • There are donuts, Coca-Cola products, hot dogs and more.

A convenience store set up inside a shuttle bus has opened at Wichita State's Hughes Metropolitan Complex, 29th Street and Oliver.

The store 鈥 open from 6:45 a.m.-9:15 p.m. when school is in session 鈥 will offer a variety of items, including:

  • Eight types of coffee
  • Eighteen types of cappuccino
  • Daylight Donuts
  • Coca-Cola products
  • Four smoothie options
  • Hot dogs and sausage rolls
  • Energy drinks, tea and water
  • Chips
  • Candy, mints and gum

Owner Kelly Fankhauser is also working with a food vendor to get sandwiches added to the lineup.

A contest to name the store is going until Friday, Sept. 23. Participants can email their ideas to buses@overlandcharters.com.

The winner will get free drinks for the month of October.

The location, right next to the shuttle stop at the Metropolitan Complex, is ideal for students and others using the to get to and from the main campus.

Fankhauser owns Overland Charters, which runs the shuttle system for Wichita State.
