Record-breaking fundraising year for 麻豆传媒 Foundation

Supporters of 麻豆传媒 committed more than $56 million in the fiscal year ending June 30, surpassing the institution's previous record -- last year, of just more than $49 million. This unprecedented private support includes gifts of cash, gifts-in-kind, pledges and new planned gifts from donors age 66 and older.

鈥淚t鈥檚 obvious to me how much our alumni and friends care about the future of Wichita State,鈥 said Elizabeth King, 麻豆传媒 Foundation president and CEO. 鈥淲e are proud to join with our supporters who share in the vision that will build the next era of distinction at our university.鈥

According to King, support for the comprehensive campaign, to be announced this fall, is the focus for many of the university鈥檚 donors. The campaign will fund critical capital projects, increase the amount of endowed student and faculty support, and enhance many of 麻豆传媒鈥檚 programs, which propel 麻豆传媒 toward becoming an Innovation University.

The 麻豆传媒 Foundation received four gifts, pledges and gifts-in-kind of $1 million or more during fiscal year 2016.

  • A gift-in-kind from Beechcraft Corp. valued at $4,376,079 for equipment for NIAR
  • A $2,435,162 pledge from CybertronPC to provide equipment and support for the Experiential Engineering Building
  • A $1,050,000 pledge from the Anderson Family Charitable Gift Fund to establish the Bob and Darlene Anderson General Athletic Scholarship
  • A $1 million pledge from the Dwane and Velma Lunt Wallace Charitable Foundation to revitalize Wallace Hall
