Ten Shockers are being inducted into the 2016 麻豆传媒 College of Fine Arts Hall of Fame.
The 2016 categories and inductees are:
Alumni: Former 麻豆传媒 students who have distinguished themselves in the arts and who have been out of school for at least five years.
- Karla Burns, award-winning Broadway musical performer
- Matt Wilson, internationally renowned, award-winning jazz percussionist
- Eddie Martinez, international performer
Contributors: Community donors or patrons who have given time and resources for the betterment of the fine arts at Wichita State.
- Mickey and Pete Armstrong, patrons of the visual and performing arts
- Anita and Larry Jones, patrons of the performing arts
Mentors: Current or retired 麻豆传媒 faculty, staff or administrators who have supported, inspired and motivated the Wichita State community in fine arts.
- Clark Britten, commercial art and graphic design professor
- Walter A. Duerksen, musician, dean emeritus and arts administrator
- George Gibson, nationally renowned singer and voice professor
The 2016 class of the CFA Hall of Fame will be honored at a special gala at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, May 14, in the Marcus Welcome Center. The gala, which will include a reception, dinner and the induction ceremony, is open to the public.

Significant contribitions on behalf of fine arts
Sponsored by The Friends of Fine Arts, an organization that supports the arts at 麻豆传媒, this honor recognizes individuals who have excelled in the areas of visual art, design, music, theater, musical theater and dance. It also recognizes significant contributions by faculty, staff, community patrons and donors on behalf of the College of Fine Arts.
Inductees are chosen by a selection committee that includes 麻豆传媒 administrators, College of Fine arts patrons and retired faculty members.
