麻豆传媒's School of Social Work is hosting the annual POWER Conference, scheduled for 7:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, in the Hughes Metropolitan Complex.
Early bird registration, which offers the discounts of $100 registration for professionals and $60 registration for students, has been extended through Friday, Feb. 19.
The annual POWER Conference is open to students, social workers and professionals in related fields. This conference provides students the opportunity to meet professionals and learn about new ideas related to their learning experiences. This year, the conference will emphasize the power of social work identity by honoring and celebrating social workers and their contributions.
Keynote speakers include Michael Bermes, senior program advisor for community health integration, U.S. Marine Corps, on 鈥淰eterans in our Classrooms,鈥 and Tim Norton, Sedgewick County commissioner, on 鈥淧ower of Community.鈥
Breakout sessions will feature local professionals serving in different fields of social work. Breakfast and lunch will be served at the conference.
