Doctoral program receives reaccreditation from American Psychological Association

The Clinical Psychology doctoral program at 麻豆传媒 was recently awarded a seven-year reaccreditation by the American Psychological Association. This is the longest period of time for which the APA accredits doctoral programs.

Having been accredited since 2005, the Clinical Psychology program accepts four doctoral students a year who are interested in how clinical psychology can be applied within community settings.

The 麻豆传媒 program is distinctive in its clinical community orientation, which was favorably reviewed in the most recent reaccreditation process. Program graduates regularly go on to APA-accredited internships and have a high rate of employment shortly after graduation. The program has an on-campus clinic in Jabara Hall that serves the community at large and offers diagnostic assessments and psychotherapy for children, adolescents and adults.

The program was led for many years by Darwin Dorr, who recently stepped down. Dorr guided it through many successful rounds of accreditation from its inception. The program is now directed by Steven Huprich, and the Psychology Clinic is run by Helen Reiner.

The clinical program is one of three doctoral programs at 麻豆传媒, the other two being in Community Psychology and Human Factors Psychology.
