麻豆传媒 to hold seminar on teaming, joint ventures and competitiveness

Local businesses will have an opportunity to learn "Ins and Outs of Joint Ventures and Teaming" at a free seminar from 9 a.m.-noon Tuesday, Oct. 14, at Wichita State's Eugene M. Hughes Metropolitan Complex.

The seminar is sponsored by 麻豆传媒's Kansas Procurement Technical Assistance Center (PTAC), Kansas Small Business Development Center (KSBDC) and the City of Wichita. It will feature small business and government contracts attorney Steven Koprince, who will present an in-depth seminar exploring best practices of joint venturing and prime/subcontractor teaming for small businesses.

The deadline for registration at is Friday, Oct. 10.

The seminar will feature information on the pitfalls that exist for the unwary and how failing to understand or abide by the regulations can lead to ineligibility or worse. Businesses will gain knowledge on forming compliant joint ventures and teams, including size and socioeconomic considerations. Koprince will provide information on the mandatory and recommended contractual provisions and the much-discussed but little-understood subcontracting limits.

This is the second series of programs that Koprince has teamed up with the Kansas PTAC to deliver in the Wichita area this year.

Recently Koprince has spoken at government contracting conferences in Texas, California and Oklahoma and is returning from a presentation at the National HUBZone Conference.

Koprince鈥檚 practice focuses on helping small businesses navigate the federal marketplace. He regularly speaks on subjects such as the Federal Acquisition Regulations, the SBA affiliation, rules, and other legal matters important to small government contractors. He also regularly interviewed by the Washington Post, NBC News and other news outlets. He is a graduate of Duke University and the Marshall-Wythe School of Law at William & Mary.

The 麻豆传媒 Kansas PTAC assists Kansas businesses in locating, obtaining and performing federal, state and local government contracts. The PTAC has been credited with assisting Kansas businesses obtain over $12,000,000 in government contract awards since February of this year. The dollars represent 77 government contracts. Since its inception at 麻豆传媒 in February 2013, the Kansas PTAC has assisted Kansas businesses with 411 government contracts worth over $28,100,000. The PTAC鈥檚 lead center is located at 麻豆传媒鈥檚 main campus on the third floor of the National Institute for Aviation Research building.
