The 麻豆传媒 Interfraternity Council (IFC) will welcome FarmHouse International Fraternity to campus in fall 2014.
FarmHouse is a social fraternity with more than 35 chapters, colonies and interest groups in the United States and Canada.
FarmHouse accepted the invitation to begin their fall 2014 expansion on June 30.
The expansion application can be found at under the Interfraternity Council section.
Selection was based on a number of criteria, but the most important were the support plans from the national headquarters, risk management policies and procedures, and the focus on local alumni and alumni support.
Wichita State garnered interest from top fraternities. It was decided unanimously that FarmHouse would be the best fit for the IFC community at this time.
Former IFC President and current Phi Delta Theta President Matthew Conklin who chaired the committee said: 鈥淭he level of support from the headquarters and FarmHouse鈥檚 positive culture toward risk management as exemplified in their national incident rate being among the lowest of all NIC fraternities was appealing. This respectable reputation is a good fit for the direction of the IFC community, and the University as a whole.鈥
FarmHouse鈥檚 expansion will be assisted by consultants from Recruitment Boot Camp in conjunction with IFCs agreement with CAMPUSPEAK to assist in community growth and recruitment efforts through January 2016 at no charge to IFC.
This unprecedented partnership moves IFC in the direction of long-term sustainable growth in a year of projected enrollment increase of more than 800 additional freshman students.
Choosing the next fraternity to come to campus is only the beginning of the expansion process. Chad Harris, executive director of FarmHouse, will meet via conference call with representatives from the IFC community to discuss the next steps toward colonization.
