Sandra C. Garmon Bibb has been named the new dean of the College of Health Professions at 麻豆传媒, effective Monday, Aug. 11, according to Tony Vizzini, vice president for Academic Affairs.
Keith Pickus has served as interim dean of the College of Health Professions since August 2013. He will be reassigned to other duties in August 2014.
Bibb has been associate dean for faculty affairs at the Graduate School of Nursing, Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md., since August 2011. She also has been a nurse scientist consultant/alternate member for Quorum IRB, independent review and research ethics boards in Seattle, Wash., since October 2012.
Bibb served in the military as an active duty nurse from 1974-2004.
鈥淒r. Sandra Bibb has extensive and broad experience in health professions,鈥 said Vizzini. 鈥淚 am excited about her leadership here at Wichita State and the future for the College of Health Professions.鈥

In 2013, she was an invited member of the Inaugural Merit Review Panel for Improving Methods for Conducting Patient-Centered Outcomes Research in Washington, D.C.
Bibb became a registered nurse in 1974 at the Providence School of Nursing in Mobile, Ala. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Master of Science in Nursing and Doctor of Nursing Science in 1983, 1991 and 1999 respectively, from the University of San Diego.
