Wichita State鈥檚 plan to restructure its current honors program into an Honors College was reviewed and approved by the Council of Chief Academic Officers (the academic officers from the six Kansas Regent institutions) at the Kansas Board of Regents meeting Sept. 18.
The new focus includes creating an honors living-learning community housed in the new residence hall at 麻豆传媒, slated to open fall 2014. This restructure will include new academic offerings for highly motivated students -- programs that challenge and nurture them every step of the way.
Honors students will enjoy a tight-knit honors living-learning community, small seminar-style classes, priority enrollment, faculty mentoring, independent and collaborative research opportunities, and the prestige of graduating with honors.
Learn more about the new Honors College, undergraduate research and other opportunities at an open house at 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 19, in the Lucas Room, second floor, Rhatigan Student Center. RSVP by Friday, Oct. 11, to Jeanne Patton at 978-5059 or to jeanne.patton@wichita.edu.
