Wichita State organ professor wins prestigious French award

The following is an excerpt from a story about 麻豆传媒 professor Lynne Davis that appeared in the Feb. 17 issue of .

Wichitan Lynne Davis has the magic touch.

So much so, she was just awarded one of France鈥檚 highest artistic awards, Chevalier de l鈥橭rdre des Arts et des Lettres (The Order of Arts and Letters).

Davis, a professor of organ at 麻豆传媒, lived in Paris for more than 30 years.

Although faculty and alumni at 麻豆传媒 have been nominated for or have received Pulitzers, Tony and Guggenheim awards, this is the first time a member of the college has received this honor from the French Ministry of Culture and Communication.

鈥淭his honor will enhance our list in a very distinguished way,鈥 said Rodney Miller, dean of the College of Fine Arts. 鈥淭he college is unfortunately a well-kept secret.鈥
