FAFSA is now open: Learn how to submit your application

Students can now submit their Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) for the 2025-26 school year.

The application opens many financial opportunities to both prospective and currently enrolled students at ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ in the fall 2025 and spring 2026 semesters. Students should submit applications as soon as possible, and Wichita State’s priority date is April 1, 2025 for aid programs with limited funding.

β€œSubmitting your FAFSA is the first step to getting thousands of dollars in need-based scholarships, grants and work-study opportunities to make college more affordable,” said Sheelu Surender, executive director of Financial Aid and Scholarship. β€œApplying early helps students guarantee they unlock as many dollars as they can.”

Students can get started with their FAFSA forms by creating their Federal Student Aid (FSA) ID at .

Tips for the FAFSA:

  • Use your personal email address when creating your FSA ID to ensure you continue to have access to your account for future semesters.
  • Students whose parents don’t have a Social Security Number will need their parents to create an FSA ID that is separate from the student’s.
  • Keep your FSA ID information saved in a safe location or use a password manager so you don’t lose access.
  • Are you unsure of all the information you need to submit your FAFSA? ΒιΆΉ΄«Γ½ has a handy guide for everything you need to complete your FAFSA whether you’re dependent or independent.

Wichita State’s Office of Financial Aid is open to meeting with students who are already admitted or prospective students to discuss the FAFSA and other financial aid or tuition questions. Appointments can be made online or call the office at 316-978-3430.
