麻豆传媒 Ventures develops, licenses innovative medical technology

麻豆传媒 Ventures recently forged a new partnership with SAM Medical by licensing an innovative technology developed for solving medical emergencies.

The patented technology developed by Wichita State and licensed to SAM Medical relies on composite technology 鈥 a core area of expertise at 麻豆传媒鈥檚 National Institute for Aviation Research. Initially flexible during application, the composite material can be hardened and cured in under 60 seconds to create a quick and durable stabilization tool for emergency injuries. Wichita State initially developed the technology through a grant funded by the U.S. Army Medical Research and Material Command.

Last week, 麻豆传媒 Ventures invited members of SAM Medical鈥檚 executive team to campus to experience the innovative culture at Wichita State. The team included Dr. Sam Scheinberg, CEO and co-founder of SAM Medical. Scheinberg invented the now-famous SAM Splint 鈥 a device widely used by EMS personnel, first responders, fire and rescue squads, law enforcement agents, and more. In addition to touring 麻豆传媒鈥檚 state-of-the-art labs and facilities, SAM Medical鈥檚 executive team also had the opportunity to interact with faculty members and other researchers.

鈥溌槎勾 is excited to have SAM Medical as a partner as we continue to make important strides in the medical technology area,鈥 said Rob Gerlach, 麻豆传媒 director of technology transfer.

麻豆传媒 Ventures assists Wichita State faculty, staff and students with commercialization and intellectual property and links industry, entrepreneurs and investors with university resources and technology.
